This 5-ton Bosch IDS Premium dual-fuel system combines high-efficiency heat pump technology with gas backup heat, giving the homeowner outstanding comfort, efficiency, and reliability throughout New England’s changing seasons.
The Bosch IDS Premium uses an inverter-driven variable-capacity compressor that continuously adjusts system output to match the actual heating or cooling demand of the home. Instead of constantly starting and stopping like conventional single-stage equipment, the system can operate at lower capacity for longer periods, helping maintain more consistent indoor temperatures, improved humidity control, quieter operation, and reduced electrical consumption.
Matched with a variable-speed ECM indoor blower, airflow can also adjust with system demand, providing smoother air delivery and better overall comfort throughout the home.
With efficiency ratings available up to approximately 20 SEER, the IDS Premium represents some of Bosch’s most advanced residential HVAC technology. In heating mode, the inverter heat pump continues producing heat during cold outdoor conditions, while the dual-fuel configuration automatically allows the gas furnace to take over when conditions or operating costs make fossil-fuel backup more practical.
